“Firefox is already running, but is not responding” Bug
When trying to open Firefox, I often get a pretty alarming sounding error message titled “Close Firefox”. The full error message is: “Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process or restart your system”.
I can’t find any Firefox process running in order to close it. What’s going on?

Windows 7 beta on 2009
On Tuesday over a Microsoft blog posting, Keith Combs makes it seem as if a beta version of Windows 7 will be ready by early 2009. The Microsoft Developer Conference (MDC) attendees will get their hands on the first DVDs with Windows 7 beta 1 on it. This new OS is described as a refined and matured version of Vista, with a couple new features while focusing on what people have been complaining about, which is largely the sluggish performance.

Gmail Comes to Desktop as Gmail Desktop Gadget
Google’s Desktop gadgets team has finally introduced the Gmail desktop gadget called “Gmail on your desktop”. The gadget brings some of the web-based features to the desktop and will allow you to read, search, and send messages from your Gmail account. You can star messages, use the keyboard shortcuts, and contact auto-complete. Another cool thing about it is that you can manage multiple Gmail accounts simultaneously without taking up much space in your sidebar or desktop. The gadget is available for download and currently works with the latest release of Google Desktop for Windows.
